Rockley Music Center – A Colorado
Piano Store Worth Visiting
In May, 2006, I had the pleasure of
visiting
Rockley Music Center,
located at 8555 W Colfax Ave,
Lakewood, Colorado. During that
visit, I was pleased to discover and
make my acquaintance to the staff,
comprising a tremendously committed
and talented group of individuals.
Starting at the top, the owner and
president of Rockley is Tobin
Rockley. Tobin is the third
generation successor to this 60 year
old Colorado piano dealership.
Other members of the Rockley Piano
staff are as follows. There is
Andrew Ward, chief sales manager,
Connie Koprowicz, the director and
go to person, problem solver. Then
there is Vic Richardson who is the
technology support manager who. Vic
specializes in user electronic and
music technology support where he
frequently provides technology
seminars for piano teachers.
To take care of their piano
customers, Rockley works with highly
qualified independent technicians
who follow-up routine and technical
service issues. One of the things
that impress me is that the entire
Rockley staff including Tobin
Rockley, are all active musicians.
Rockley is a service oriented piano
dealer dedicated to the support and
creation of music, not just to a get
rich, exclusive bottom-line self
profit mentality. I will speak later
in this review to what I believe is
importance of music as the bedrock
of any piano business.Family, Community and Service
Orientation
Rockley Music continues to thrive in
a very competitive business
environment by following a few
golden rules and principles.
1. The management and staff are
service oriented.
2. Any problems coming up are
handled directly in the following
ways.
3. The staff follows up on all their
service calls by talking to and
querying their customers on a
regular basis, to make sure of their
satisfaction. If there is a problem,
they fix it and make it right.
4. Rockley does not farm out their
problems to service people that they
don’t know or to unqualified

accessories.Summary
I believe music serves as the
bedrock principle of any piano
business. After all, a piano is
first a musical instrument and
secondly, a piece of furniture. Now
a days I think that the whole
musical, piano and arts community
has to work extra hard to establish
and maintain the value and
importance of music and the arts in
our culture. That makes it even more
imperative that a business such as
Rockley or any piano dealer
continually reaffirms and
reestablishes that connection.
The Rockley staff are musicians and
work with their customers as peers
and friends, not just as sales
people pushing product. Rockley also
continues to promote and sponsor
numerous community musical events
such as the 3rd annual Pranberger
adult piano festival and competition
and the Belmar Whole Foods music
artists program.
I vote a yes for
Rockley Music
Center, for their consistent and
reliable approach to customer
service, family and community. All
these assets and more make Rockley
the place to consider when
purchasing your next piano and most
certainly, the best place to
purchase your piano accessories.
